Products and Services

Products are tangible. This means that they can be picked up and taken away. Services, unlike products are intangible and cannot be taken away. For example, At Flamingo Land a cuddly toy from the gift shop would be an example of a product as this can be bought by a customer and taken home. A service would be going on a ride as this is an experience and not something that could be taken home and used again.

Different leisure activities and faciltiies have different products and services associated with them.

Leisure activities:

Listening to music


Example products : iPods, CDs, Headphones, speakers

Example Services: Spotify, iTunes, going to a concert




Example products: Books, Magazines, Newspapers, Kindle

Example services: A library membership, Audible

Example services: A guided tour of the gallery, a painting lesson, Wifi availability


A hotel

Example products: A meal in the hotel restaurant, drinks form the mini-bar, a guide book from the gift shop

Example services: Wifi, Room service, concierge, laundry service


A leisure centre

Example products: Swimming googles and equipment, protein drinks and bars, other sports equipment such as rackets

Example services: Gym membership, swimming lessons, personal trainer


A Cinema
